How to add a flag counter to Wix
Add a free flag counter to your Wix site with the Embed HTML element. A step-by-step guide, plus the one setting to leave empty on Wix.
Updated · takes about 2 minutes
Wix doesn't let you edit your page's HTML directly, but its Embed HTML element accepts our code. The counter then appears in a box you can place and resize anywhere on the page.
Step by step
-
Create your counter
Design it on our homepage — leave “Only count visits from these sites” empty (see the tips below) — click Create my counter and copy the HTML code.
-
Add an Embed HTML element
In the Wix Editor click Add (+), then Embed Code → Embed HTML.
-
Paste the code
Click Enter Code, make sure Code is selected, paste the HTML and click Update.
-
Resize and publish
Drag the element's handles until the whole widget is visible — the builder showed its exact size — then click Publish.
What the code looks like
This is the HTML code. Yours contains your own counter ID instead of YOUR-ID, so always copy it from your counter's page.
<a href="https://liveflagcounter.com/stats/YOUR-ID" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> <img src="https://liveflagcounter.com/c/YOUR-ID.png" alt="Live Flag Counter" width="456" style="max-width:100%;height:auto"> </a>
Tips for Wix
- Leave “Only count visits from these sites” empty on Wix: Wix shows embedded code inside a frame on its own address (not your domain), so a domain list would block your visits.
- Place the element in your site's footer so the counter appears — and counts — on every page.
- Visitors' countries are still detected correctly: each visitor's own browser loads the counter image.
Questions
Why is my flag counter cut off on Wix?
The Embed HTML element doesn't resize itself. Drag its edges until the full widget shows.
Will Wix show the right countries?
Yes. The frame doesn't change who loads the image — every visitor's browser does — so their own country is counted.
