A free, modern Flag Counter alternative
Show a flag for every country your visitors come from, with a fresh look, live updates and full statistics. Free, no signup, no ads, no cookies.
Why people look for a Flag Counter alternative
Flag counters have been on personal websites, blogs and forums for years. Many people now want one that looks current, updates straight away and shows more than a list of countries, without paying for it. That is what Live Flag Counter does.
Updates on every view
Your counter refreshes each time it is shown, so a new country appears the moment someone visits. No waiting, no paid plan for instant updates.
Never deleted for being quiet
Some free counters are removed after a month without new visitors. Yours stays, even if your site has a slow month or a long break.
No ads, no branding
No ads on your statistics page and no logo or watermark on your counter. It shows your flags and your numbers, nothing else.
A fresh, modern look
Grid, list and badge layouts, eight presets, your own colours and fonts, round or square flags, and sharp PNG or SVG images for retina screens.
Full statistics, free
A world map, trends, live traffic, browsers, devices and the sites that show your counter. Export to CSV or download a PDF report.
Private when you want
Statistics are public so you can share them, and one switch makes them private at any time. No cookies and no stored IP addresses.

Looking for a RevolverMaps or ClustrMaps alternative?
RevolverMaps shut down in November 2024, and the ClustrMaps website has not been reachable since around July 2026 (checked 16 October 2026). If your old visitor map now shows a broken image or an empty box, you can replace it in a couple of minutes.
Live Flag Counter shows flags and numbers instead of a spinning globe, and your free statistics page includes a full world map of where your visitors come from, plus trends and live traffic.
Switch in two minutes
- Create your counter. Design it in the builder and click Create my counter. No account needed. Keep your edit key safe.
- Find your old code. It is usually a link with an image inside that points to the old service. Look in your footer, sidebar, a Blogger HTML gadget or a WordPress Custom HTML block.
- Replace it. Delete the old code, paste your new code and save. Use HTML for websites, Markdown for GitHub and BBCode for forums.
Your new HTML code is a single image inside a link, like this, with your own counter ID instead of YOUR-ID:
<a href="https://liveflagcounter.com/stats/YOUR-ID" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> <img src="https://liveflagcounter.com/c/YOUR-ID.svg" alt="Live Flag Counter" height="24" style="max-width:100%;height:auto"> </a>
Numbers from another service can't be moved across, so your new counter starts from zero. You can keep both counters on your site for a while if you like.
Step-by-step guides for your platform

Counting without cookies or stored IP addresses
Each visit is counted when your page loads the counter image. We look up the country from the visitor's IP address, then turn the address into a salted one-way hash to recognise repeat visits. The address itself is never stored, the counter sets no cookies and no scripts run on your site. Bots and link previews are not counted. Details are in our privacy policy.
Questions
Is Live Flag Counter really free?
Yes. Counters are free with no ads, no watermark and no traffic limits for normal websites. There is no paid plan you need for instant updates or full statistics.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Create a counter and copy the code, no email needed. An optional free account lets you keep all your counters in one place and log in instead of using edit keys.
How does a flag counter work?
The counter is a small image. Each time your page loads it, we count the visit, look up the visitor's country from their IP address and draw the image with the latest flags and numbers. The IP address is never stored.
Why did my old flag counter stop working?
Common reasons: the service shut down (RevolverMaps closed in November 2024), old http:// code on an https:// site, which browsers block, or a free counter deleted after a quiet month. Whatever the reason, you can replace it with a new counter in about two minutes.
Can I keep my old numbers when I switch?
No. Numbers from another service can't be moved across, so your new counter starts from zero. If you like, keep both counters on your site for a while.
Will it slow down my website?
No. It is one small image of a few kilobytes, with no JavaScript on your site. It loads like any other picture.
Do I need a cookie banner for it?
The counter sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses, so it adds no cookies to your site. Whether you need a banner for other parts of your site is up to those parts.
Why does my GitHub README counter show mostly the US flag?
GitHub loads README images through its own servers, so we see GitHub's location instead of the visitor's. This happens with every image counter. On websites, blogs and most forums each visitor's own country is shown.
Is Live Flag Counter part of Flag Counter?
No. Live Flag Counter is an independent service and is not connected to Flag Counter (flagcounter.com), RevolverMaps or ClustrMaps.
